The vegetation is encroaching on this portion of NCR1, making it narrow for people passing one another.
The surface of the shared cycle / foot path used by NCR1 is cracking here. It also level differences, although this photo doesn't show that terribly clearly. This portion has been marked for repair.

Southward-travelling vehicles have priority (including cyclists); however, oncoming traffic HARDLY EVER observes this when cyclists are coming under the bridge, making for dangerous passing beneath the bridge. Improved / more visible … [more]

Create protected cycle lane with physical barrier to separate cycle lane and cars. Establish a pop-up cycle lane to test this out?

A segregated cycle path from the West Station to the existing path that crosses the Spires. This would join with a route to the University as well as the Town Centre.
The A291 is incredibly dangerous for cycling. This is borne out statistics that show it is one of the most dangerous roads in Kent! Please implement the Herne Bay to Canterbury cycle route from the Transport Strategy.

Add a slipway from the Crab and Winkle to the Old Thanet Way. This would create a safe alternative to crossing the Old Thanet Way at South Street.

Remove parking so that the under construction crab and winkle extension can safely join to the station with a segregated cycle lane.
Add a ramp to facilitate the other suggestion, this would also give a route for wheelchair users from one platform to the other.

Signage at the station is terrible. Cycle path should join Stream Walk using the cut through by the side of the train line
Remove ridiculous Give Way Markings on cycle way at the entrance to the allotments. This is the main route for cyclists between the city and Canterbury High/London Road estate, but yet again cyclists have to wait for the car.
The roundabout is dangerous for cyclists and the pedestrian crossing on Old Dover Road causes tailbacks that block it. Need traffic lights with advance stop for cyclists. It is access to two secondary schools.
The road is too busy with lorries and cars belting around. Turn the pavement into a shared cycle and foot path.

NCR1 cycle / foot path on the south side of the A2990 Thanet Way. Visibility into Chaucer Business Park is poor at this point.
