Following the Crab & Winkle Way (NCR1) climbing into Clowes Wood. Almost at the top. The route bears to the right as it enters a clearing.
At the top of the hill following the Crab & Winkle Way (NCR1) through Clowes Wood. The C&W (NCR1) route bears downhill to the right towards Canterbury. The route to the left takes a circular route to the car park.
"Winding pond" rest area. A winding engine used to be based here to haul the train up a hill on the Crab and Winkle route. From here the route joins the original route that the Crab and Winkle railway took.
