"Winding pond" rest area. A winding engine used to be based here to haul the train up a hill on the Crab and Winkle route. From here the route joins the original route that the Crab and Winkle railway took.

Entrance to traffic-free portion of Crab & Winkle Way (NCR1) at South Street, Whitstable. Looking South towards Canterbury. Watch out for motorists when coming out of this junction.

Returning to Canterbury along the Crab & Winkle Way (NCR1). The bridge over the A299 can be seen halfway down the picture with Clowes Wood beyond that.
